WUU Service - "Grateful" (11/22/20)
Saturday Dec 05, 2020
Saturday Dec 05, 2020
Come listen to a WUU service!
We've never had a Thanksgiving quite like this. As the pandemic continues, families and loved ones are missing each other and facing difficult choices. Meanwhile, we're growing in our awareness that the traditional Thanksgiving story many of us grew up with was only a brief chapter in a much bigger story of conquest. But the ancient impulse to give thanks remains. Let's celebrate all that we are grateful for, not least the chance to learn and grow.

250 years ago, John Murray, a Universalist preacher who had lost his faith after the death of his wife and child, sailed from England to New York. Or, at least, he meant to. He ended up stranded along the coast of New Jersey. There, he met a Universalist who changed his life...and our lives too. Today we celebrate this momentous anniversary and look for signs of renewal in our own lives. Also today, the Wisdom Story will be in the form of an amazing video by the Craig Family!
